Widely regarded as Britains best country rockers the band crossed over into Brit Pop in the nineties when the Beautiful South recorded seven Mike Greaves Songs.

Diamonds Always Shine made the top 40 as a B-side and again with Frank and Delores on the 2 million selling album... Carry on up the Charts. Three sell out UK tours forged a special relationship between the two HULL bands and a lasting friendship between Mike and the Beautiful Souths songwriters Paul Heaton and Dave Rotheray.

The Lonesome Too released the highly acclaimed DIAMONDS album in '93 and record companies big and small from both sides of the Atlantic were drawn to this unique artist with the rich soul-full voice and wonderful songs and puzzled over the contradictions within. Refusing to line-up with the New Country wave The Lonesome Too continued their highly original journey through the words and music of MG Greaves.

Following the highly successful UK tour with good friends and Texas troubadour Richard Dobson, a final gig at the infamous Adelphi in Hull coincided with appearances by the late Townes Van Zandt and their good friend Pete Rowan and for a while in '96 Hull became a little part of Texas .... and all was well.

Accordion player Andy Watson and bassman Brian Hairsine joined Mike and the original drummer Brian Chapman in '99. This latest album represents their struggle to write the latest chapter in the colourful life of .. MG Greaves and the Lonesome Too.
